Link / claim a device

Bring a controller into your household account (or your organization).

Paths:

• Home → Quick action Link
• Settings → Link another device

Who can claim

Context	Who
Home	Signed-in consumer (primary account)
Organization	Org member with permission to add devices (optional Organization ID on the link form)

Steps in the App

1. Open Link your device.
2. Prefer the short setup code on the kit label (full URLs still work).
   • On web: scan with the mobile App, or type the code from the label.
   • On mobile: use Scan your kit for the QR on the box.
3. Follow the flow:
   1. Scan or enter setup code
   2. Claim to your household — attach the controller to your account
   3. Connect Wi‑Fi — send home network credentials next
4. Confirm the device appears in the header Device picker and shows as online when connected.

Advanced: enter an Organization ID if you are claiming into an org instead of your household.

Don’t have a device yet? Use Settings → Buy a kit or visit bytestar.in.

After linking

• Attach the device to a space (Assign device).
• Open Monitor / Control for that device.
• Optionally create scenes, schedules, automations, or a dashboard.
